Firstly, on behalf of everyone at Westrade I would like to thank all our customers and partners for their continued and unwavering support during these challenging times.
It is heartening to see how the trenchless sector has maintained the ingenuity and innovation with which its synonymous. This creativity and commitment has brought the trenchless sector to where it is today and similarly it will ensure it is ideally positioned to continue this phenomenal growth in the future.
I am conscious that many of you reading this will have made significant upfront investments in our events scheduled for this year as well as our products. It is also a time of great uncertainty. As a result, I wanted to take this opportunity to update you on some of our key events and products.
Before I do this, it is important to make the point that any decisions we have taken to date (or need to take in the future) put safety first. We are as keen as anyone to see businesses and our economies start to bounce back, but not if it endangers people’s health or lives.
No-Dig Live 2020
Most of you will have seen our recent announcement regarding the postponement of our flagship No-Dig Live event in Peterborough, UK until March 2021. This was not a decision we made lightly but concerns around the COVID crisis and to what extent life will have returned to some semblance of normality by September meant that the level of uncertainly was simply too high. One of the great things about No-Dig Live is the international representation and this is also something that we did not want to risk losing. All my team are now fully focused on next March and giving all our stakeholders the best show yet.
Trenchless Asia – Kuala Lumpur – 17th & 18th November 2020
Trenchless Asia is now entering its 12th year and many people thought it would be hard to top the previous Trenchless Asia held in Kuala Lumpur which attracted over 100 exhibitors and a record number of delegates and visitors.
Trenchless Asia 2020 however has already surpassed all our expectations. The draw of the energetic and vibrant Malaysian capital, together with its ambitious infrastructure development plans has meant that exhibition space has been sold out for some time.
We have been extremely fortunate to have received such unbelievable support from the Malaysian Government and its ministries. This, coupled with the colocation of the ISTT Annual Conference, means we can look forward to one of the highest quality content programmes the trenchless community has ever seen as well as record attendance.
At the time of writing, our plan is still to hold Trenchless Asia in November. We are however constantly in touch with our local teams and Government advisors and will keep the decision under review. As an insurance policy we are holding dates with the venue early in 2021. We will continue to keep everyone updated and should we need to push back the event we will ensure we provide plenty of notice.
Our new website www.nodiglive.co.uk has been one of the great success stories of recent months. The website has been developed to become the voice of our community and brings together news, opinion and information from across the UK and international trenchless technology sector.
I would encourage everyone to send their news in to the editorial team using the firstname.lastname@example.org email address and we will ensure it hits the site. We are also always keen to hear ideas for more detailed content, so if there are any issues you’d like to discuss or express an opinion just drop us a line.
