Expectations couldn’t be higher for No-Dig 2021 after an advance party of representatives returned from host country Panama following a hugely successful reconnaissance mission. The party comprised senior members of NASTT (North American Society for Trenchless Technology), CISTT (Colombian Institute for Subterranean Infrastructure Technologies and Techniques), ISTT (International Society for Trenchless Technology) and No-Dig event organiser, Westrade.
There was certainly a packed schedule of meetings to be squeezed in over the 2-day period: the visiting group spent some valuable time with big names such as the Canal de Panama, Ministerio di Obras Publicas, Promtur, and Sociedad de Engenieros. They also toured several venues vying to make the shortlist as the headquarters for the event as well as some tourist hotspots for consideration for the comprehensive social programme.
Jari Kaukonen, Chairman of ISTT, says of the trip: “What a fantastic few days we spent with a dynamic organizing committee. I was so impressed with the beautiful country of Panama and I know the trenchless community will be equally wowed by all there is to see and do there. We obviously have No-Dig 2020 in Kuala Lumpur to look forward to, but I would urge you all now to block out No-Dig 2021 in your diary as soon as possible.”
Paul Harwood, Managing Director of Westrade Group, adds: “The trip to Panama was a superb opportunity to gather the committee together and start to flesh out the details of No-Dig 2021. I am delighted to be working alongside such an enthusiastic team of trenchless experts from around the globe who clearly share the same vision of success”
